Frequently Asked Questions and Answers:
1. How far in advance can we book for the T100 races?
We begin the process of opening our homes up to book for the next year after the current race series ends. The exact date our homes become available is different every year; please call either 719-486-1930 or 719-486-1499, or email [email protected], to get on the waiting list. We will then email everyone on the list with the date that booking will open up for that year, at which point you can reserve the home you want online.
2. Is there someone local we can call in an emergency during our stay?
Of course! If you have plumbing, heating, electrical or other issues that need immediate attention, such as being locked out of your rental, you can reach our Property Manager, Melissa, at 719-486-1499. For general inquiries, our office number is 719-486-1930, which is answered during business hours, including Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
3. Can we bring our pets?
Some of the homes are pet-friendly, but most of our homeowners do not allow pets at their rentals. You can do an advanced search on the left side of our website’s homepage for the homes that allow pets, or call us directly to inquire for the dates of your visit.
4. Is there a refundable deposit?
No; we only take full payment when the reservation is made, that way neither we nor you have to worry about more payments coming out later, or whether or not deposits have been refunded. We’ve found this way to be easier for all parties. However, we do keep your payment information securely on file to be used for any damages that may occur, and you will be notified in the case of such charges needing to be made.
5. Can the cleaning fee be waived if guests are willing to clean the house themselves?
Unfortunately no. After each reservation, our cleaners need to make sure the house is thoroughly sanitized and arranged in the same manner for every incoming guest.
6. Is there a charge for extra guests?
Nope! We only charge a flat nightly rate whether you have one person or the maximum allowed. The maximum capacity of each property is often due to septic capacity and/or age of the house, and cannot be exceeded. If more people will be staying in the property than was stated with reservation, we must be notified (even when that new total doesn’t exceed the maximum), but there’s no charge.
7. Would it be possible to do an early check-in or late check-out?
The only way to guarantee it is to book the extra day either before or after. If another guest books (or has already booked) the house before or after your stay, we need the time between 11:00 a.m. check-out and 4:00 p.m. check-in to clean.
8. How do we find & get into our rental?
Your key and a good old-fashioned map to the home can be picked up together at our office, RE/MAX Aspen Leaf Realty, located at 711 Harrison Ave, Suite B, Leadville CO, 80461. Paper maps are the most reliable here because many GPS systems can be inaccurate in the mountains. The office is also where your key is to be dropped off when you check out. We do not list addresses on our website for security purposes. However, we’re happy to find you a home in a location that suits your preferences over the phone.
9. What’s the weather like up in Leadville/Twin Lakes?
It’s great – if you’re ready for it! We do get a lot of snow in the winter, but it’s very sunny and dry, so it’s not hard to stay warm with the right clothing. Year round, when you have sunscreen, layers, and drink plenty of water, it’s easy to enjoy your time at 10,200’. Whether warm or cold, it’s always beautiful. 10. What is there to do / see / eat in Leadville?
There’s no end to the outdoor activities you can enjoy here, from mild scenic hikes to ultra-athletic pursuits, and we’re not limited by season. Head out on a fall colors bike ride, ski or snowshoe, go fly fishing, or climb the fourteeners! And as for the great indoors, we have plenty of restaurants, shops and historical attractions.
